Whole Foods Introduces Veggie Blends

AUSTIN, Texas — Whole Foods Market developed eight frozen vegetable blends under its Health Starts Here program, which focuses on the benefits of whole, nutrient-dense foods.

AUSTIN, Texas — Whole Foods Market developed eight frozen vegetable blends under its Health Starts Here program, which focuses on the benefits of whole, nutrient-dense foods.

“At Whole Foods Market, we believe that focusing on these four pillars of healthy eating offers the greatest health benefits, no matter what dietary path you follow,” states the retailer in promotional materials.

Each 16-ounce package of the 365 Everyday Value frozen vegetables features a Health Starts Here recipe. Bags retail for $1.99.

“With these ready-to-go bags, you don't need to plan for prep time — they're already primed for a quick and healthy side or entrée every day of the week," said Chad Sarno, global Health Starts Here program coordinator for Whole Foods Market in a statement. "Flash freezing vegetables preserves their fresh taste, which means our shoppers can enjoy that just-picked taste year-round."

Varieties include:

• Garden Blend: a medley of carrots, broccoli and sugar snap peas

• Soup and Stew Blend: a mix of spinach, asparagus, mushrooms and red potatoes

• Beans and Greens Blend: kidney beans, Great Northern beans and kale
