Whole Foods Readies 6th NYC Opening

The two co-presidents of Whole Foods Market are scheduled to ring the opening bell at the Nasdaq stock exchange today in advance of the opening of the company's sixth New York City location.

NEW YORK — The two co-presidents of Whole Foods Market are scheduled to ring the opening bell at the Nasdaq stock exchange today in advance of the opening of the company's sixth New York City location.

The store, at 97th Street and Columbus Avenue, is about 40 blocks north of its massive, belowground Columbus Circle location, also on Manhattan's Upper West Side. It is scheduled to open on Thursday.

On its website, Whole Foods touts the availability of its 365 brand private label at the store, and it is also promoting its "value tours" to showcase these products. The co-presidents of Austin, Texas-based Whole Foods are A.C. Gallo and Walter Robb.
