Whole Foods Market has pulled out of a plan to build a new store as part of a mixed-use project in downtown Miami, reports said last week.

MIAMI — Whole Foods Market has pulled out of a plan to build a new store as part of a mixed-use project in downtown Miami, reports said last week.

According to the Austin Business Journal, citing a regional officer for the Austin, Texas-based natural food retailer, changes in the construction schedule at the Met Miami project figured in the decision. Whole Foods last year said it would reduce the number of new stores it planned to open in 2009 due to the economic slowdown.
