JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Winn-Dixie Foundation here said Tuesday it has donated nearly $1.3 million since July 1 to 81 charities throughout its operating area in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi.
The donations, to a variety of not-for-profit organizations, are intended to provide necessary services to groups across the Southeast, "empowering them to share our goal of helping to improve the lives of families in each neighborhood we serve," Mary Kellmanson, president of the Foundation, said.
