Sorkin Named Head of Conn. Food Association

The Connecticut Food Association yesterday said it has named Stan Sorkin as its new executive director.

FARMINGTON, Conn. — The Connecticut Food Association here yesterday said it has named Stan Sorkin as its new executive director. He succeeds Grace Nome, who died last year after leading the association for 26 years. Sorkin, a 40-year veteran of the food industry, most recently was director of marketing and government relations for Alpha 1 Marketing Corp., the marketing arm of White Plains, N.Y.-based distributor Krasdale Foods. He previously served four terms as chairman of the Food Industry Allliance of New York State and is a former chairman of the New Jersey Food Council.
