HOUSTON — Rebecca Woodard, representing Harps Food Stores, Springdale, Ark., took top honors in the International-Dairy-Deli-Bakery-Association's 15th Annual Cake Decorating Challenge here at the association's Dairy-Deli-Bake 2010 Seminar & Expo earlier this month. Tina Lofthus, lead cake decorator at Town & Country Market on Bainbridge Island, Wash., placed second; and Sara Vanderheyden, cake designer at an Ames, Iowa, Hy-Vee store, came in third. Woodard describes herself as a roving decorator-technician for Harps, with her base being a Springdale store. The three finalists were chosen from a record 75 entries submitted this year by cake decorators representing supermarkets from across the United States.
