Kings Launches More Foodservice Concepts

PARSIPPANY, N.J. — Kings Food Markets will feature new foodservice concepts at its latest location — its 25th — opening this week.

Some of the concepts will get their debut at the new store in Gillette, N.J., officials said in a news release, and some are polished versions of concepts tested at other locations over the past year and a half.

The standout concept is MarketSquare, which brings together a number of fresh prepared food stations. There, international fare is featured, including Asian dishes served at a hibachi station, hand-rolled sushi, and brick-oven, Neapolitan-style pizza.

A hot soup menu runs the gamut from hearty to light, to organic, and gluten-free.

A take-out section, called “Inspirations to Go,” has a place in MarketSquare. So does a full-service coffee house with baristas serving espresso, lattes, cappuccinos and pastries.

MarketSquare also features a cheese shop with 300 varieties, including a selection of locally sourced cheeses.

An open-air flower boutique and a patisserie displaying colorful, decadent desserts round out the appeal of the bunched-together new and upscaled concepts.

*“Our entire team has worked hard over the last year to ensure that inspiration strikes our customers in every aisle, in every department…,” said Judy Spires, president and CEO of Kings Food Markets, in a statement. “Our Gillette location brings this brand promise to life in such a multi-sensory way for our shoppers; it truly is an opportunity for our customers to see, hear, smell, touch and taste a full culinary experience.”

*Statement updated based on an amended press release.
