KOWALSKI'S BOO BASH DRAWS CROWD

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Kowalski's Markets' Boo Bash, a Halloween event for children, attracts bigger crowds each year, officials said. All nine Kowalski's units participated on the same evening this Halloween, and kids — with parents in tow — numbered anywhere from hundreds to 1,000 per store. Indeed, the flagship Woodbury store “treated” more than a thousand children. “We had some very nice things, some contributed by vendors, at the treat stations,” Woodbury assistant store manager Dan Leitner said. As kids proceeded to 13 different treat stations in different departments, they were given cookies from the in-store bakery, chocolate milk, apples, even some small toys and videos. Parents received a coupon for a free Kowalski's-brand frozen pizza, with any $10 purchase.

IDAHO POTATOES IN HOLIDAY PROMOTION

EAGLE, Idaho — The Idaho Potato Commission this week will participate in a holiday promotion partnership with Sutter Home wines, Mrs. Dash seasonings, New York Texas Toast and the Beef Checkoff program, featuring recipe ideas and freestanding insert coupons for $1-off purchases of beef or other items when participating products are paired. “Multi-partner promotions are always a huge success for all the brands involved. They remind consumers of the multiple ways they can pair many of their favorite products,” said Seth Pemsler, vice president of retail/international for the Idaho Potato Commission. The national FSI will be distributed to 30 million consumers on Saturday, Nov. 14.
