COLUMBIA, S.C. — Piggly Wiggly Carolina Co. yesterday hosted the grand opening of a new Dream Dinners location in its Forest Park location here, marking the first time that the pioneer of the family meal preparation industry has partnered with a supermarket chain. For a fee, Dream Dinners provides its customers with the ingredients, equipment and hands-on instruction needed to prepare and freeze balanced meals for their families for a week or two at a time. Since the Snohomish, Wash.-based company's first location opened in 2002, dozens of similar concepts have launched, and Dream Dinners itself has grown to 260 franchised locations in 33 states. The partnership with Piggly Wiggly is slated to expand to multiple locations throughout the company's stores in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina, Dream Dinners said in a release.
