CHICAGO — Supervalu's Jewel division recently opened Urban Fresh by Jewel, a 16,000-square-foot store focusing on fresh and prepared foods for the on-the-go professionals of the Lincoln Park neighborhood.
The store features an upscale, modern design, a wide selection of beer and wine, and fresh-baked breads and pastries.
The store's “Urban Fresh Grill” features a rotating menu of lunch and dinner items, including gourmet sandwiches and hot dinner entrees available in single or family portions.
Recent sandwich offerings, both priced at $4.99, include mango habanero barbecued shredded pork on a fresh-baked roll, with a side of coleslaw and pickle wedge; and flame-grilled pub burgers, also with a side dish of potatoes or fruit.
Among the recent dinner offerings ($8.99 per individual or $34.99 for a family portion): osso buco, served with black bean and roasted corn salsa and a corn cake; and slow-roasted baby back ribs, served with coleslaw and a roasted potato medley.
