Meijer Contest Seeks Toymaker

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Meijer is looking for the “Next Great Toymaker” — a small toy manufacturer that would sell its product exclusively via Meijer.com through the 2012 holiday season.

The chain is seeking two toys — for boys or girls or both — one for children ages one to three, and one for children four to eight, according to a description of the contest on meijer.com. The toy, which needs to be less than 150 pounds, would support a retail cost of $19.99 or higher.

NEW PRODUCT SEARCHES: Retailers Seek Exclusives

The contest is open to any small toy manufacturer or seller who is currently not selling the proposed toy through another mass merchant.  Entries — including a sample toy — must be post marked by August 13 and received by August 17. Meijer will also award the winners a Meijer gift card for $250.
