BOISE, Idaho — Albertsons LLC here said last week it plans to acquire a City Market in Fort Worth later this month and reopen the store under the Albertsons banner the following day.
“We have provided residents in this area [near Texas Christian University] one of the best shopping experiences Fort Worth has to offer since 1994, and we look forward to being able to open this store quickly when the transaction closes,” said William Emmons, president of the company’s Dallas-Fort Worth division. “We know it's aggressive to close a location one day and reopen the next day, [but] we want to provide customers in this area with as brief an interruption in service as possible.”
Albertsons said it expects to remodel the store while it remains open. Albertsons LLC operates 86 of its 250-plus stores in Texas, including nine in Fort Worth prior to the acquisition.
