Celebrity Chef Planning Gourmet Grocery Chain

TORONTO — Mark McEwan, a noted restaurateur and television chef, is planning to open a gourmet grocery store here next year. The store, called McEwan, is among tenants in a new lifestyle shopping center set to open next April in Don Mills, Ontario, according to developer Cadillac Fairview. The 24,000-square-foot store will feature prepared foods and grocery staples, McEwan said in a report in the National Post newspaper. McEwan operates three Toronto restaurants and hosts a television cooking program, “The Heat,” which airs on The Food Network in Canada.
