DAYTON, Ohio — Lofino’s Food Stores here has launched the FuelLinks fuel reward program at its three Cub Foods locations in the Dayton area. “The FuelLinks model offered the best possible loyalty solution at the lowest possible investment,” said Martin Sloan, Lofino’s chief financial officer. “By adopting FuelLinks, we can offer customers an outstanding, multi-faceted program while saving hundreds of thousands of dollars in development cost and maintaining focus on our core competencies.” Developed by MetroSplash Systems Group, Highland Village, Texas, the program enables consumers to earn fuel rewards on specially marked items, which can be redeemed at BP and Marathon fuel centers. The program launched last month and within the first four days, the retailer distributed more than 1,000 FuelLinks membership cards. During the week of Aug. 3-11, FuelLinks members were issued $7,968.47 in rewards. Lofino’s operates Cub and Save-A-Lot stores on a franchised basis from Supervalu, Minneapolis.
