Dollar General to Open 9,000th Store

GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. — Dollar General here said it would open the 9,000th store in its fleet on Saturday in Fountain Run, Ky.
This milestone further distinguishes Dollar General as the retailer with the largest number of company-owned stores in the United States, it said. The first Dollar General store opened about 100 miles away in Springfield, Ky., in 1955.
