Fresh & Easy Joins GreenChill

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market here said it has joined the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's GreenChill Advanced Refrigeration Partnership — committing itself to reduce refrigerant emissions to minimize the impact on climate change and protect the ozone layer.
According to GreenChill, Fresh & Easy's current rate of refrigerant leakage is "well under 10%," compared with an industry average of 25%, due to advanced refrigeration technologies and the company's use of a refrigeration system alarm center and leak detection program that actively monitor and respond to refrigerant leaks quickly.
