PLEASANTON, Calif. — March Frozen Food Month is getting under way as retailers kick off special discounts and promotions. “Chills and Thrills” is the theme of a Safeway promotion that offers customers two free movie tickets when they spend $30 on participating frozen foods in a single transaction. “Chills and Thrills” shelf tags identify the participating brands, which include Dryer’s Green Giant, Lean Cuisine, Weight Watchers, Sara Lee and Totino’s. The offer kicked off on Wednesday and runs through April 1. Waldbaum’s, an A&P banner, is celebrating the occasion by offering $10 off total shipping orders for those who spend $75 on frozen foods between today and March 27. March National Frozen Food Month is an annual promotion coordinated by the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the event.
