H-E-B Names Boyan President, COO

SAN ANTONIO — H.E. Butt Grocery Co. here on Monday said it has named Craig Boyan president and chief operating officer.
He succeeds Bob Loeffler, who the company said plans to retire but has agreed to remain as chief administrative officer for the next two years.
Boyan, who had been chief strategic officer and COO, joined H-E-B in 2005 after working as a consultant for the chain as a partner with Monitor Group, New York.
In addition, H-E-B said it has named Martin Otto chief merchant. He also remains chief financial officer. As chief merchant, Otto succeeds Steve Harper, who remains a consultant, the company said.
