Hellmann's Light Mayo to Use Cage-Free Eggs

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. — Unilever will begin using 100% certified cage-free eggs in its Hellmanns' Light Mayonnaise recipe in the U.S., it announced recently.
It intends to use cage-free eggs in its Real Mayonnaise, Canola Cholesterol Free, Olive Oil and Low Fat Mayonnaise Dressing once a certifiable and consistent supply becomes available in North America.
“The Humane Society of the United States applauds Unilever’s commitment, which will help raise the bar on farm animal welfare, and we hope its competitors follow in its footsteps,” Paul Shapiro, senior director of the factory farming campaign at the Humane Society of the United States, told SN.
