CINCINNATI — Gatorade, Klondike, Ragu and Ritz join more than 100 products that feature limited-edition Daytona 500-themed packaging at Kroger Co. stores.
Select private-label products, including salad dressing and cheese, feature the Daytona 500 logo as well. In addition, The Kroger Co. has launched a Daytona 500 Web initiative that includes a designated website, kroger.daytona500.com, which includes driver blogs, promotions and games.
The site currently promotes a contest from Fritos and Gatorade, in which anyone can choose the winner of the race. All those who enter have a chance to win a free 32-ounce Gatorade and a Gatorade Victory Lane Hat. Considered the most prestigious NASCAR event, this year’s Daytona 500 takes place Feb. 15. Other events include the Feb. 8 Daytona 500 qualifying, sponsored by Kroger.
This is the second year that Kroger has tied in with the Daytona 500 in a big way. Last year, it also sold limited- edition Center Store products as part of the race’s 50th anniversary.
