$3 Meal Ideas From Hy-Vee

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Joining the increasing number of other retailers promoting low-cost meal ideas, Hy-Vee has launched “30 meals for $3 per serving.” Recipes include ginger and brown sugar-glazed salmon; Caribbean jerk pork tenderloin; and chicken alfredo pizza. All feature a variety of Hy-Vee’s private-label products, including Hy-Vee-brand dark brown sugar, Dijon mustard soy sauce and brown rice.
The meals come at a time when other retailers are introducing programs aimed at helping consumers during these tough economic times. For instance, Kroger recently started offering “Meal Deals” via its shortcuts.com coupon program. Shoppers can download coupons directly to their loyalty cards for a variety of ingredients needed for a complete meal.
