Group Issues Local Buying Guide for Michigan
Dec 1, 2008 6:00 AM
LIVONIA, Mich. — A local group here that is seeking to boost Michigan’s economy last week issued a guide to buying locally made grocery products. The downloadable list, compiled by Buy Michigan Now and available at buymichigannow.com, includes more than 100 grocery companies based in Michigan, organized by product category.
“We added the Grocery Guide in response to moms who told us that they want to buy more from Michigan companies, but often they are in the market with their kids, and reading labels just isn’t practical,” said Lisa Diggs, the group’s founder, in a prepared statement. “They asked for a tool they could take with them, and we’ve provided it.”
