Wal-Mart Targets ‘Momtourage’ in New Ad Deal

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Wal-Mart Stores here is targeting mothers in a new online advertising deal with a division of NBC Universal, according to reports yesterday. The retailer will sponsor certain content on a new website — momtourage.com — that seeks to provide help for busy mothers in areas such as child care, cleaning and cooking, and will also sponsor similar material on NBC’s “Today” show. “This is a key audience for us,” a Wal-Mart spokeswoman was quoted as saying.
