VANCOUVER, British Columbia — Union negotiators and senior management of Overwaitea Food Group here returned to the negotiating table with a provincial mediator Monday after union workers last week rejected a tentative contract agreement between the parties. If a new agreement is not reached, workers would strike 48 hours after talks break down, according to United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1518, which represents the 5,000 workers. Union membership last week voted 58% to reject a tentative, five-year contract with Overwaitea. They were negotiating to replace a contract that expired in March.
