Rite Aid Kicks Off BTS Campaign With Private Brands

CAMP HILL, Pa. — Rite Aid here is attempting to counter forecasts of a modest back-to-school sales period due to the economy with value-priced private-brand merchandise and a series of back-to-school savings programs, including more than $200 worth of school supply rebates.

Rite Aid created a special four-page, pull-out shopping list with savings on basics including pencils, notebooks, composition books and crayons. This shopping list can be found in the August Single Check Rebate guide available now in Rite Aid stores nationwide and online. Selected rebates also appear — along with instant deals including buy-one, get-three-free offers — in Rite Aid's weekly newspaper circular.

"In times like these, we know many families are going to be watching their monthly budgets," said Greg Axtman, Rite Aid category manager for home, office and school supplies, in a press statement.

Rite Aid offers both national brands — such as Mead Five Star, Crayola, Masterlock and Elmers — and Rite Aid private brands, including Harvard Square glue, pencils and notebooks as well as Office Expert index cards, calculators and tape.
