Roundy’s Boosts Rebate-Check Incentive

MILWAUKEE — Roundy’s Supermarkets here has joined the growing chorus of supermarket retailers appealing to consumers to cash their economic-stimulus checks at its stores, but it is seeking to go one step further by tossing in some free product. The parent of the Pick ’n Save, Copps and Rainbow banners in Wisconsin and Minnesota said it would add 10% to a gift card purchased with such checks, mirroring offers touted by Sears, Kroger and Supervalu, among others. In addition, Roundy’s said it would throw in coupons good for a free reusable grocery bag, a free loaf of bread a free half-gallon of milk and a free dozen eggs.
