Safeway Offers Shoppers a Free Pasta Meal

PLEASANTON, Calif. — Safeway here is encouraging use of its grocery delivery service by offering two free private-label grocery products that can be used as part of an Italian dinner. “This week dinner’s on us,” Safeway said in a promotional email blast. The offer includes a free 16-ounce box of various types of Safeway-brand pasta, including large shells and penne (regularly 88 cents), as well as a 26-ounce jar of Safeway Select pasta sauce (regularly $1.99). A variety of other promotional offers, including a free 18-ounce can of Campbell’s soup, are also available to delivery service customers.
