Schnucks Expands Generic Prescription Program
Jun 30, 2008 6:00 AM
ST. LOUIS — Schnuck Markets here Friday expanded its generic prescription program to include $4 30-day supplies and $10 90-day supplies. Over 300 commonly prescribed generic drugs are in the program. Since October, the retailer previously offered free 21-day supplies of more than 50 generic oral antibiotics. “We have been strategizing for months on how we might offer savings significant enough to help offset rising costs and enhance the one-stop-shopping experience for our customers,” said Mike Juergensmeyer, senior vice president of pharmacy. “We’ve been able to significantly strengthen the program by bringing many more medications in through our own distribution center. This has enabled us to cut supply chain costs and pass those savings on to our customers.”
