LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Tyson Foods has killed and buried a flock of 15,000 hens in West Fork, Ark., that tested positive for possible exposure to avian flu during routine blood tests last week. State officials said the birds appeared to be infected with the H7N3 virus, a less virulent strain than the H5N1 flu that destroyed thousands of Asian poultry flocks in 2003 and killed more than 200 people worldwide. Jon Fitch, director of Arkansas’ Livestock and Poultry Commission, said that there was no threat to the public health, according to published reports.
