Wal-Mart Marketsides Located in Former Drug Stores

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — The first four Marketside stores Wal-Mart Stores plans to open in the Phoenix area this fall will be located in former drug stores, according to published reports. However, Wal-Mart here is reportedly considering building at least two other locations from the ground up, sources said. Marketside will be a 15,000- to 20,000-square-foot store that Wal-Mart describes as "a small community grocery store" that will offer "a wide selection of complete meal solutions, fresh ingredients and everyday favorites at affordable prices."
