ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Wegmans’ support of a new bill that proposes to remove the two liquor license limit for New Jersey food retailers was the focus of an email it sent to shoppers in the state earlier this week. “As a Wegmans shopper, you know that convenience, quality, incredible service, consistent low prices and unmatched variety is what we’re all about,” read the email. “We’d like to make the experience of shopping at Wegmans even better, and certainly more convenient, by selling wine and beer in all of our New Jersey stores.” Wegmans is urging consumers to visit www.onestopsshopnj.com and email their state representative expressing their support for the measure. Whole Foods Market, Acme Markets, Safeway, Village Supermarkets, McCaffrey Markets, Quik Chek and the New Jersey Food Council also support the bill.
