Kroger Workers in W.Va. Reject Proposal, Authorize Strike

WHEELING, W.Va. — Union workers at Kroger stores here have rejected a management contract proposal and given approval for leaders to call a strike, the union said. United Food and Commercial Workers Local 23, which represents workers at 12 affected Kroger stores in the Ohio Valley, said it has not set a strike date and hopes to return to the bargaining table with the Cincinnati-based retailer.
