Customers were able to drop off perishables in a Harvesters refrigerated truck that sat in front of a Price Chopper store for five days.
The food was put in barrels inside the truck.
“Our customers always step up when we ask them to help us feed Kansas City’s hungry, and we knew we could count on them to help us Fill the Fridge,” Casie Broker, director of marketing, Price Chopper, said in a statement. “It’s so important to get nutritious perishable foods in kids’ diets, and we were excited to be a part of this much-needed food drive.”
