COLUMBUS, Ohio — Kroger Co., Cincinnati, has installed a convenience store vending machine at one of its locations here. The new addition is a Shop24 automated convenience store machine from Service America Group, according to Jason Santoro, a sales manager with the Boston-based vendor. It was recently added as part of the fuel center at Kroger’s Olentangy River Road location, near Ohio State University, Santoro confirmed. He declined to provide additional details. The Shop24 website said the machine can hold up to 200 cooled and non-cooled products, ranging from over-the-counter medicines to soft drinks. Columbus TV station NBC4 reported that Kroger plans to have a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the machine on June 25. Kroger was not available for comment.
