H-E-B, KRAFT PLAN HEALTH SCREENINGS
SAN ANTONIO — H.E. Butt Grocery Co. here is partnering with Kraft, Northfield, Ill., for health and wellness screenings twice a month at H-E-B pharmacies. The screenings, which include free blood pressure and glucose tests, will run through Oct. 11. Other screenings offered at a discount are total cholesterol, A1C and lipid panel. Each month the screenings will have a particular theme, featuring special promotions and new offers. June is themed around children who will receive H-E Buddy Bucks and exercise cards. Meanwhile, H-E-B will be promoting its My H-E-B Rx Rewards Platinum program, which offers 500 generic drugs for $5, 90-day supplies for $9.99, discounts on all other generic drugs, and a free prenatal vitamin program. There is a one-time $5 fee to enroll in the program.
SAFEWAY, LOTTERY PROMOTE WITH FUEL
OLYMPIA, Wash. — The first 200 people holding $10 Mega Million tickets at the gas pumps of three Safeway fuel centers received free gas on May 23 for the start of the Memorial Day weekend and summer travel season. This was the third year that Washington State Lottery teamed with Safeway on the free gas promotion. Lines formed early and parking lots filled with 45-50 cars at 4:30 a.m., according to a lottery spokesman. The pumps opened at 6 a.m. At about $4 per gallon, 600 people received 10 free gallons of regular or unleaded fuel, a $40 value, at Safeway locations in Auburn, Kennewick and Spokane.
