Retail Pharmacy Meets With Congress on Medicaid

Retail pharmacy executives joined representatives from pharmacy companies throughout the U.S. for a “fly-in” yesterday, a collaborative industry effort to visit with members of Congress and advocate on behalf of community pharmacy.

WASHINGTON — Retail pharmacy executives joined representatives from pharmacy companies throughout the U.S. for a “fly-in” yesterday, a collaborative industry effort to visit with members of Congress and advocate on behalf of community pharmacy. The “fly-in” was organized by the Food Marketing Institute, Arlington, Va., the National Association of Chain Drug Stores and the National Community Pharmacists Association, both in Alexandria, Va., to address Medicaid access issues, including average manufacturer price and implementation of a new tamper-proof prescription paper requirement for Medicaid prescriptions.
