Alexandria, Va. — After filing a lawsuit in November against the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service (CMS), the National Association of Chain Drug Stores and the National Association of Community Pharmacists, both here, received an initial victory in their legal strategy to prevent Medicaid pharmacy reimbursement cuts. The United States District Court for the District of Columbia put the brakes on efforts by CMS to impose Medicaid pharmacy reimbursement reductions scheduled to be implemented next month. Medicaid reimbursement cuts will not be allowed to take effect before Judge Royce Lamberth has had an opportunity to fully review and make a final decision on the merits of the lawsuit.
