Albertsons LLC, Hannaford, Three Others Get DVD Kiosks
BOISE, Idaho - Five supermarkets, including Albertons LLC here, unveiled new partnerships with Redbox, Oakbrook, Ill., the provider of automated DVD rental kiosks, yesterday. Additional agreements include: Hannaford Supermarkets, Portland, Maine; Chevy Chase Supermarket, Chevy Chase, Md.; Martin's Super Markets, South Bend, Ind.; and Strack N Van Til, Highland, Ind. "Albertsons LLC is the biggest of the five agreements and we will be in about 400 of their locations," Greg Waring, vice president, marketing for Redbox, told SN. The kiosks will be in about 130 Hannaford stores, 20-25 Strack N Van Til stores and one Chevy Chase store. "Every time we open a machine we see a tremendous response," Waring said. Redbox has kiosks active in over 1,700 locations nationwide, including more than 900 supermarkets. Wendy TothSubscribe / Renew to Supermarket News
