Apr 9, 2008 6:00 AM
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Big Y Foods here is setting aside space for an in-store health clinic in a store it is remodeling here, according to the Springfield Republican. It is across the street from a new Stop & Shop supermarket, which is due to open May 2. The Big Y store's renovations will be completed on May 9, but an operator for the health clinic has not yet been identified. The retailer has been holding talks with Baystate Health, Springfield, it was reported. The paper quoted Charles D'Amour, president and chief executive officer of Big Y, as saying the clinic was not a reaction to Stop & Shop. "We've been talking about this for a long time. We're still in the process of kind of working out the details on it."
