ORLANDO, Fla. — The Global Market Development Center, Colorado Springs, gave its 2008 Lifetime Achievement Award to Norton Sarnoff, president and founder of Handi-Foil Corp., Wheeling, Ill., during the General Merchandise Marketing Conference here this week. GMDC annually gives the award to someone who has contributed significantly to the general merchandise or health beauty wellness industries, as well as to GMDC. Sarnoff served as chairman of GMDC's General Merchandise Advisory Board in 1991, and was a GMDC board member for seven years, from 1985 to 1992. Sarnoff has attended every GMDC General Merchandise Marketing Conference since its inception in 1970.
