COLORADO SPRINGS — The Global Market Development Center, better known as GMDC, said yesterday it has formed a partnership with LearnSomething, Tallahassee, Fla., to provide GMDC member companies with a suite of e-learning tools that will impact productivity at both the store and buyer/merchandiser levels of their operations. The two key components of these tools are the LearnSomething Prepare to Sell “Store Level Program” for in-store personnel and the PTS “Product Category Certification” program for buying/merchandising personnel. Both programs are designed to improve the service skills, and product and category knowledge. “Working with our supplier members, the LearnSomething PTS programs offer GMDC retailers and wholesalers solid new tools to best meet shopper needs and capture business opportunities,” said David McConnell, GMDC’s president and chief executive officer. “These new training programs build on the strong suite of e-learning programs already offered by GMDC, which focus on the professional development of the employees of our members,” added Keith Wypyszynski, vice president of business development and chief member officer.
