Kroger Brings $4 Generics to Mid-Atlantic Stores

CINCINNATI — The Mid-Atlantic region of the Kroger Co. here, with stores in West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, North Carolina and Tennessee, is the latest division of the company to adopt its $4 generic prescription drug program. A Kroger spokeswoman was not available to confirm if the program is now national, although it is now available in many parts of the country, and is promoted on the parent company's website. About a month ago, the company extended the program to Indiana, Tennessee, Michigan and Texas. Other states with the Kroger program include Illinois, New Mexico, Nebraska, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Nevada and Utah. Over 300 generic medications are covered by the program, which offers a 30-day supply. Family planning drugs are offered at $9.
