Meijer, Kings Super Markets Promote Cooking Light Magazine

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. --Meijer Inc. and Kings Super Markets, Parsippany, N.J., are partnering with Cooking Light magazine to support the magazine's 20th anniversary. Cooking Light, from publisher Southern Progress, Birmingham, Ala., inspired by its popular column, "Reader Recipes," is hosting a 2007 Ultimate Reader Recipe Contest. As retail partners, Meijer and Kings Super Market will each promote the contest by offering in-store samplings of contest sponsors' products in 20 locations across the country. Sponsors include: Cook's Ham, Kikkoman, Quaker Oatmeal, Kraft 2% Milk Shredded Cheese, Muir Glen Organic Fire Roasted Tomatoes, Benefiber, Kerrygold Cheeses and Butters from Ireland, and Nakano Seasoned Rice Vinegar. "Meijer is proud to have been selected by Cooking Light as its 2007 Innovative Retail Partner," said Stacie Behler, vice president of public affairs for Meijer. "We know that our customers want simple and healthy solutions, and we work hard to provide those solutions in our stores through education in our communities and at Meijer.com." In late August, Cooking Light will select 12 finalists who will compete head-to-head in an on-site cooking contest at Kings Cooking Studio in Short Hills, N.J., for a grand prize of $20,000 in cash.
