New NACDS President Urges Retail Pharmacy Promotion

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Steven C. Anderson, National Association of Chain Drug Stores’ president and chief executive officer, in his first presentation to the association’s membership, spoke of the importance of communicating the value of community pharmacy and retail health care. In his state of the association remarks at the NACDS annual meeting here this week, he emphasized that promoting the health-related messages of retail community pharmacy will create a stronger industry that benefits retailers and suppliers of the diverse products sold in their stores. “We must promote an accurate perception of this industry that promotes the value of pharmacy, our importance to the local community and the national economy, and the critical role pharmacy plays in health care and patient outcomes,” he said.
