Procter & Gamble Reorganizes, Breaks Up Gillette

CINCINNATI — Procter & Gamble said yesterday it is reorganizing into three new global business units, which will break up the Gillette Co. business it acquired in 2005. The three global business units will be: Beauty Care, Global Health & Well Being, and Household Care. The company is realigning its structure to meet the needs of its larger, more diverse, faster-paced business, company officials said. While the Duracell battery business of Gillette will go under Household Care, the shaving business will be part of Beauty Care, according to media reports. All units will report to Susan Arnold, currently vice chair of P&G beauty & health, and who is now elected president, global business units.
