H-E-B and Wal-Mart Offer Cholesterol Screening Through RediClinic
Aug 8, 2007 8:00 AM
HOUSTON — Available in H.E. Butt Grocery Co. and Wal-Mart stores in Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Virginia, retail clinic provider RediClinic, here, is offering a new low-cost program to help consumers determine their risk for heart disease, the company said yesterday. The “Cholesterol Challenge” includes a cholesterol screening, a health risk assessment and counseling from a nurse practitioner. “Although high cholesterol does not cause any symptoms, it can have an adverse impact on overall health. Consumers need to know their numbers so they can take remedial action if necessary,” said Web Golinkin, president and chief executive officer of RediClinic. RediClinic operates 17 locations in H-E-B stores in Houston, Austin and San Antonio, Texas; 13 locations in Wal-Mart stores in Tulsa, Okla., Fayetteville and Rogers, Ark., and Richmond, Va.; and 16 clinics located in Walgreens stores in Atlanta. Additional RediClinics are scheduled to open throughout the remainder of 2007.
