United to Add In-Store Clinics
May 15, 2007 8:00 AM
LUBBOCK, Texas — United Supermarkets and Texas Tech's University Medical Center Health System, both located here, are partnering to offer a Living Well ExpressCare in-store clinic in two United stores in Lubbock beginning this fall. Living Well ExpressCare will offer primary medical services to customers at United’s "82nd and Boston" and "50th and Avenue Q" locations as soon as construction of the in-store clinics can be completed, United said. The clinic will be located behind the pharmacy in each store, allowing patients to get their prescriptions filled immediately at the same location. Similar facilities also are planned for single stores in Amarillo and Frisco, Texas. They will be the first in-store health clinics in Lubbock and are believed to be the first in West Texas, United said. Each will be staffed by a nurse practitioner under the supervision of a licensed physician.
