Weis Markets to Add Clinics as it Expands
SUNBURY, Pa. -- Weis Markets plans to add in-store health care clinics as it invests in store construction for 2007, vice chairman Jonathan Weis said at the company‘s annual shareholder meeting held here late last week. Chief Executive Officer Norman Rich updated the meeting on the company's plans for adding health clinics. "At last year‘s annual shareholder meeting, we announced our partnership with the Geisinger Health System [Danville, Pa.], one of Pennsylvania‘s leading healthcare providers, to open in-store health clinics in a number of our stores," said Rich. "Last summer, Geisinger opened its first CareWorks clinic in our Clarks Summit store and a second unit in Allentown earlier this year. We will continue to roll out additional clinics in the coming months."Subscribe / Renew to Supermarket News
