Congratulations Whole Foods, you are the first to take real action against the GMO leviathan Monsanto. Others will be forced to follow or lose business as the public is educated in loss of nutrition through GMOs. The first extensive test in the world, at the French University of Caen showed large tumors in mice and rats after 2 months. The study has been strongly knocked down by Monsanto backers. Monsanto can threaten Americans if they dare ask for GMO labeling as the company did in Vermont. I predict a majority of the nation will know the GMO story within a year and the public in the millions will choose to go to natural food stores while Moinsanto continues to threaten us. But their threats won't hold much weright with an educated constituency. Bill Deane, a blogger on OurMissingNews.com

We need more nutritional data and effects on metabolism, but hope so. Obesity ( and related chronic diseases steming from it) is a serious issue and burden on our economy, and personal pocket. it is a huge uphill battle to correct. Speaking as a consumer..... I restrict myself to whole foods only, but would appreciate expanding my purchases, if I could qualify my purchases better.... Instead, I play it safe. I applaud Whole Foods Market, and the rest who support the health of our Nation.

Like the organic and gluten-free trends that went before, this process will have to reach critical mass before the biggest players follow suit.
