NEW YORK -- Walt Disney Home Video, Burbank, Calif., will release the $130 million box office hit, "101 Dalmatians," April 15, the company announced during Toy Fair here last week.
ss promotions with Nestle, Disney Interactive and Alamo Car Rental. Disney titles are distributed by Buena Vista Home Video, Burbank.
Nestle will offer a $5 mail-in rebate when consumers buy "101 Dalmatians" and four specified Nestle products. Additional savings of up to $8 will be available through instantly redeemable coupons of $2 and $4 on select Alpo products.
There also will be a $10 mail-in rebate from Disney Interactive when consumers buy the video and any CD-ROM title. Meanwhile, Walt Disney Home Video will offer a $2 instantly redeemable coupon on "101 Dalmatians" that can be used on either "Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey" or "Homeward Bound II: Lost in San Francisco," both Disney movies. A $20 discount on Alamo car rentals will also be offered.
Advertising on behalf of "101 Dalmatians" will include national television and print, and trailering on titles such as the March releases "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" and "Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves." Meanwhile, "101 Dalmatians" will have 142 licensees offering over 17,000 consumer product stockkeeping units.
